The Certification Board for Inspection Personnel (CBIP) is New Zealand’s National Body for the assessment, qualification and certification of inspection and non-destructive testing personnel. CBIP is an independent, non-profit making incorporated society.  CBIP operates under direct delegation from the Department of Labour as a Qualification Issuing Agency. All certificate holders are ordinary members of the society. Notification of meetings such as the AGM are made via the website, at least 60 days in advance, so members should check the site reqularly. AGM and abbreviated Board meeting minutes are posted on the website also.

CBIP functions are managed by a Governance Board made up of various industry representatives. The Governance Board acknowledges the valuable contribution made by the Contributing Members of CBIP. The Board is responsible for establishing and maintaining policies with regards to the administration, rules, functions, standards, and fees of the society and the certification schemes offered. These are kept under constant review to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the certification services.

If your organisation wishes to become a contributing member of CBIP, please contact the Secretary. Other interested individuals or organisations may become members with the appoval of the Governance Board.

NZNDTA have a permanent Board member, with contributing and ordinary member representatives being elected.   Examinations are conducted twice yearly, with Equipment Inspection examinations in May and October and NDT examinations in July and November.
