To All CBIP Level I EWP Inspectors
Extension of Level I EWP Inspector Certifications
If your Level I EWP Inspector Certification is expiring soon, this notice tells you how to apply for an extension to your certification.
Unlike other CBIP certifications, the Level I EWP qualification was originally issued for a term of only two years (others are for five years).
This two year term will be extended to five years in the next version of the EWP Standard of Proficiency. However, due to delays stemming from CBIP's taking control of its own administration from AINDT, the SOP is not ready for publication.
To avoid unnecessary inconvenience to inspectors and industry, the decision has been made to extend the existing certification from two to five years, upon application from inspectors who can demonstrate that they continue to work in the discipline.
This will entail completing the applicable form and supplying a referee's statement and a passport photo for your replacement card.
The cost of this three year extension is $552 inclusive of GST ( 60% of the cost of a standard five year renewal).
The required forms are available at http://www.cbip.org.nz or by contacting the Business Manager.
